My question is, why are we going to pay our hard earned money on a monument of a guy that no one knows about. He was the sixth president under congress assembled; this means that he merely started and ended the meetings of congress, and had no executive powers. The government should spend our cash on things that really matter such as defense, or I have an idea not spend our cash at all. The government can’t just build a monument any time they want of any person we want. Even if he was a good person, so are a lot of people. He didn’t make a big difference and he wasn’t remembered, so why should we spend 11.8 million dollars on a statue of some loser.
