Current Events (Click on Current Events to see the worksheet)

Today’s present is tomorrow’s past, so it is important to keep up with current events while we are studying history.  Students will be expected to find an article by using the newspaper or  the Internet.  Students are expected to find an article that deals with world issues only, please, no local, state, or US news, unless it directly relates to the world.  Sports, weather, Obituaries, commentaries, and entertainment news are not allowed and will receive an automatic zero.

You are allowed to turn in a total of 2 Current Event assignments per Quarter to boost your grade.  You must complete the entire assignment per directions in order to receive full credit.  Each Current Event is worth a total of 10 Reserved Points (Reserved Points are NOT considered Extra Credit), which means that you can earn up to 20 Reserved Points towards your overall grade (...which can help you tremendously if you are failing.)  Once you finish a Current Event, turn it in to Mrs. Brost immediately!  Current Events are graded and entered within a couple of days...sometimes they are graded and entered immediately, if time permits.
