Just because the Articles of Federation were a failure, it was still a very necessary part in founding our current constitution and government. By being a somewhat failure, it still showed us the weaknesses of our government and was successful in showing us how we could improve our constitution to make our nation more secure and just. Even events that weren't as successful as they could've been still deserve monuments to allow people to remember and respect the particular event, which in this case is the Articles of Confederation.
