Our president was the magnificent Elias Boudinot. He was born on May 2nd, 1740 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the 4th real president of the United States. Boudinot did many things for our states. In 1818 he traveled off to an American boarding school. He did not support slavery for one. That by itself I think is a great accomplishment. He also was a delegate from the New Jersey Congress. And, if you supported a religion other than his, he would not mind. Boudinot also founded the natural history department in 1805. He signed the Treaty of Paris too. And, did you know that he founded the American Bible Society? Well, it’s true. Also Boudinot supported Native American Rights. Boudinot had a daughter, her name was Susan Boudinot Bradford. She accompanied him as he took up residence in 1804. After the Constitution was ratified he went to serve as a U.S. representative from 1789 to 1795. Later he was appointed to Director of the United States Mint. In the year of 1860 he published "Star in the West". Elias Boudinot then died in Burlington, New Jersey October 24th, 1821.
