The Weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation and Pork Barrel legislation
The idea of making a monument for a president is stupid. We are wasting valuable money that could be used for better and more useful things. There are other people out there that need help and we are building a monument. Is that how we are going to spend our money? Why would you waste so much money on a worthless thing that is not at all useful? What about our citizens? The answers to these questions shed light on the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation. Most of the power that the country had was between states not all as a unit. The congress, according to the Articles of Confederation, was not allowed to tax the citizens which led to not being able to pay off debts etc. To be able to change the Articles of confederation at all was merely impossible because to change it all states had to agree which was most likely not going to happen. Just to change even major laws not even the whole Articles meant that 9-13 states had to approve of it. This as well as changing the entire Articles of Confederation was basically impossible.
Pork Barrel Legislation is when you spend money for useless things. This monument is completely useless. Just like how they spent tons of money on a tram that went around one building in a circle. It was worthless, no point for it at all. The reason for it is to make them look good, like they are doing something important even though it is dumb, useless, and wastes tons of money.
