Born Losif Vissarionovish Dzhugashvili, 1879 in Gori, Georgia. Stalin was brought up in a modest family and never graduated from any former education. As a young man he joined the bolshevick revolution that later came to power. Becoming Lenin’s right hand in the bolshevick party. Lenin overthrew the Czar monarchy in Russia and ruled in a totalitarian state. He was self proclaimed the substitute of Lenin as Russian leader of the bolshevick party and in late 1920’s he was Russia’s dictator. As a dictator he was ruthless and a known murderer. He killed many opponents to his power called “enemies of the country”, often union leaders and politicians. Stalin played an important role as one of the US allies in World World II, best know in a picture next to T. Roosevelt. Dying in 1953, he was still in power when the nuclear era began and the beginning of the cold war. |
