This Library is dedicated to John
Hanson our third great
president.
We have created this monument for John Hanson because we believe everyone
should have a chance to learn of our nations history, the library of John Hanson
is proof of that. We hope it will be here for centuries to come so our children
and our children's children will learn of this magnificent country we
fellow Americans call America.
The Articles of Confederation
The articles of confederation had some strong points that helped people with some issues that they began to face when presented with the idea of the declaration of independence. These articles were written early during the time that the revolutionary war was beginning. It was written by the committee by the Second Continental Congress of the great and free thirteen states and at the head of this group was John Dickinson. People began to read The Articles of Confederation and became skeptical that this was going to become a repeat of what happened with Britain so before sending them to all the other states to make sure the articles were fine, they changed his ideas. They wanted to give them as much freedom as possible but even after changing the articles it took some years to confirm because of all of the issues caused from the Revolutionary War. The articles explained how specifically they cut down the functions of the government. People got kind of confused and frustrated with the fact of other states owning certain parts of land so after some while the states agreed to give the control of western territories to the federal government. The Articles of Confederation had many strong points that helped our great country become what it is today.
