The  Articles of Confederation were not  successful. Yes, there were some good things but  over all  they sucked. All thirteen states had to approve of The Articles of Confederation. There was a quarrel that the larger states should have more votes because of their size and population. This delayed the ratification of the articles. Finally all  the states agreed and The Articles of Confederation were signed March 1, 1781.  This decision was not the best because later on the states realized that they had no form of central government. As rebellions arose the government had no way of stopping them. They also had no power to collect debt from the states. This created great financial issues for the government. The government was also broke to begin with so they had no way of forming a standing army.
