Several amendments to a House appropriations bill have been proposed to build monuments to the men who held the title of "President of the United States in Congress Assembled" under the Articles of Confederation.  You are working in Washington, D.C. with three of your colleagues to either support or oppose passage of this legislation.  You will choose one of the following roles:

Congressman:  You will make a speech on the floor of the House of Representatives to support the amendment you have made to honor one of the original 10 presidents (who was from your home state) with a monument.

Legislative Assistant:  You will create a web page for your Congressman’s official site that will inform the public about the accomplishments of your president.

Lobbyist:  You will create a web page that will be used to solicit public support for building the monument to your president, focusing your argument on the successes of the Articles  of Confederation.

Consumer Watchdog:  You will create a web page in opposition to the bill, focusing your argument on the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation and dismissing the proposal as pork barrel spending.
