Principal’s Message Dear Parents: Welcome Back! I hope the new school year finds you well. We have
been working diligently this year to provide our students a world class
education that will prepare them for middle school and beyond. As
a We thank you for your commitment and hard work that
helps make North Ridge the place to be! I would like to remind you about some important
helpful hints as your child returns to school. As students move through
the grade levels, the work level and expectations on them increase. They
will need your help and support. A good way to do this is to set aside
some time each day to review your child’s school work and to share with
them about what happened during the school day. Please, if possible,
read with, to, or listen to your child read as many times a week as
possible. We encourage you to show your children you value education, so
they too will see the importance of school in their lives. Along with parental involvement, attendance is a major
predictor of a child’s academic success. Studies show that students who
have good attendance are more likely to be successful in all other areas
of their life. As the District’s only Magnet School, we have very high
expectations for student attendance (as well as behavior and academic
effort). Failure to maintain good attendance (this includes tardies) may
result in termination of a student’s transfer. Thank you for your support of North Ridge. If you have
concerns at any time, please let us know. It is our goal to work with
our school community to resolve any problems that may occur. As always, there will be many activities and
opportunities for you to be involved at North Ridge. I hope that you
will consider joining our terrific parent groups (PTA & Booster Club)
who do so many wonderful things for our school. Please also watch for
opportunities in your child’s classroom to volunteer or to be a
chaperone on field trips. North Ridge is a much better place when our
families are involved! Finally, as a reminder, please drive safely when
dropping off and picking up your child. Obey all school and traffic
rules, and only park in designated areas in the front of the school. Our
children are precious and we want each of them to have a safe and
wonderful school year. Please exercise patience, common sense and
realize that we should never be in too much of a hurry to endanger our
students. I look forward to seeing you at school and hope that
you and your child have a great year.
