You will create a document attempting to limit the power of me, the King! (or in my case, the Queen!) Good luck…you’ll need it! I hope you enjoy four first attempt at democracy!

Contents:

1^st Paragraph: Tell me what the purpose of your document is. What are you trying to achieve? (Hint: You are trying to limit my

power as your King, pardon me, your Queen.)

2^nd Paragraph: Explain to me exactly how I have been abusive towards you, my subjects.

3^rd Paragraph: Explain to me exactly what your demands are. How will you attempt to limit my power?

4^th Paragraph: What rights do you demand for yourself?

5^th Paragraph: Beg for mercy! If I do not accept your Magna Carta, I will hunt you down and behead you! (okay…I’m just kidding)

Directions:

• First, follow directions to age your paper. You should do this first so you do not destroy your writing. Only burn the edges under adult supervision!
• Next, decide what you want to say. Do a rough draft so you do not make mistakes on your aged paper.
• Using ink (no pencil, no computer printing) write your version of the Magna Carta
• Write you name, date, and period on the reverse side of your document
• Write a short paragraph (3-5 sentences) on the reverse side explaining what the real Magna Carta was and how it has effected or influenced us.
