Articles of Confederation

    The Articles of Confederation are countries first legal system. When this document comes to mind many failures do also. The Articles of Confederation had successes to. Not very many successes but some successes came out of this document. Some of these are as following. The negotiation of the Treaty of Paris which ended the Revolutionary War. The North West Ordinance which provided for orderly admission of the states to the union. The Articles of Confederation were in effect in 1781.It had taken four years for the articles to actually be into effect. So really the Articles took place in 1777. The Articles Confederation structured the government in many ways. One way is that this document created a system of justice. The Articles also made a way for the colonist to know that no King or dictator would or could rule over them again. This for how the laws worked.
