President Nixon:Richard
M. Nixon was the 37th president of United States of America. He was
president from 1969 to 1974. He was born in Yorba Linda, California in 1913.
In 1940, he married Patricia Ryan. They had two daughters named Patricia and
Julie. Nixon attended Whittier College and Duke University Law School. Nixon
served as a Navy lieutenant commander in the South Pacific during World War
II. In 1952 Nixon was chosen as Dwight Eisenhower's vice-presidential
running mate. In 1960, he lost the presidential election against President
John F. Kennedy. He also lost while running for Governor of California in
1962. In 1968, he won his party's nomination for president. He was the first
native of California to be either vice president or president. Nixon was the
first U.S. president to visit China. He was successful in ending American
fighting in Viet Nam. He also improved U.S. relations with the U.S.S.R. and
China. Nixon lost the trust of the American people in late July and early
August 1974. He was involved with the Watergate scandal. During an
investigation in 1973, it was proven that Nixon had played a part in the
Watergate cover-up. He denied any personal involvement, but resigned as
President shortly after. After his resignation, President Nixon wrote many
books and did tv interviews about the issues about the Watergate scandal. He
also has a long list of TV and movie appearances. Some of his works are
Vietnams (1985) and Real Peace (1983). On. On the evening of August 8th,
1974, Nixon announced his resignation on television. He died on April 2nd,
